Johnson Looks to Secure Economic Future in New Spot

Posted October 29, 2010

Oshkosh, WI…Oshkosh manufacturer and U.S. Senate candidate Ron Johnson speaks of securing America’s economic future in his latest campaign spot. The ad, which will air statewide leading up to Election Day, features Johnson candidly discussing his fight to put our nation’s financial house in order to secure our future and create jobs.

“Wisconsinites have gotten to know Ron Johnson as he’s travelled across the state for the past six months, and they’ve embraced his message of fiscal discipline and job creation in order to bring America back,” according to Sara Sendek, spokeswoman for Ron Johnson for Senate. “Johnson will continue to travel the state talking and listening to the voters who are every bit as concerned about our country’s future as he is through Election Day.”

RON:                “I love Wisconsin. And I love America. And so does Russ Feingold.

But there is a big difference.

Senator Feingold thinks Washington can borrow, tax and spend our way to prosperity.

I believe that is absolutely wrong and hurts our economy.

We need to bring common sense to Washington.

Put our nation’s financial house in order to secure our future and create jobs.

I’m Ron Johnson, I thank you for your consideration and ask for your support and I approve this message.”

Feingold’s Listening Failures: Health Care Reform

Posted October 29, 2010

Oshkosh, WI…According to a Politico story out today, “Feingold has been one of the most aggressive supporters of the health care overhaul on the campaign trail…” (Politico, 2010 Races We’re Watching, 10/29/2010)
That simple fact explains why Russ Feingold has gotten an icy reception in Wisconsin. Feingold’s constituents told him before he voted, and they’ll tell him again on November 2nd, that Wisconsinites don’t want the costly and complex health care overreach that the Obama-Reid-Pelosi leadership forced on the American people.

By a margin of 55% to 37%, Wisconsinites opposed the Obama health care plan in March 2010, before Feingold voted for the bill. According to a Rasmussen Reports survey this October, a majority of Wisconsin residents favor repeal of the health care bill.

In addition to increasing the deficit, raising taxes, and cutting Medicare, a recent report found Senator Feingold’s health care bill could cost Americans close to a million jobs.

“Feingold didn’t listen to Wisconsinites when he voted for the health care bill. Now Feingold’s ignoring their calls to get it right and stop the job losses. It’s no wonder that after 18 years people are looking for somebody new that represents their values,” according to Sara Sendek, spokeswoman for Ron Johnson for Senate. “On November 2nd, voters are preparing to send a citizen legislator to stop the Obama-Reid-Pelosi job-killing, big-spending agenda in its tracks.”

Feingold Breaks Garage Door Promise; 72% of Donors From Out-of-State

Posted October 28, 2010

Oshkosh, WI…In 1992, gasoline was $1.18 a gallon, Brett Favre started his career with the Packers, the national debt was $4 trillion, and Russ Feingold wrote on his garage door, “I will rely on Wisconsin citizens for most of my campaign contributions.”

Times have changed and so has Russ Feingold.

In his third quarter Federal Elections Commission report, over 72% of the donors who contributed to Russ Feingold lived outside Wisconsin.

Juston Johnson, campaign manager for Ron Johnson, issued the following statement:

“Career politicians’ promises don’t mean much. Russ Feingold promised to reduce the deficits, yet he’s voted to pass the largest deficits in history onto the backs of taxpayers. Russ Feingold promised to tackle the debt, but it has grown by a whopping $10 trillion since he entered office. Now, who can be surprised that he turned his back on one of the first promises he made to the voters of Wisconsin by taking the lion’s share of his campaign contributions from out-of-state. Russ Feingold isn’t a maverick, isn’t independent, he’s just another Washington politician.”

“Gangbusters”

Posted October 27, 2010

Oshkosh, WI…The Johnson campaign released a new web video today after Senator Feingold’s eyebrow-raising comments in last Friday’s debate have gotten Wisconsinites asking, “Does Senator Feingold really think the economy is going gangbusters?”

The web video, titled “Gangbusters,” features footage from Friday’s debate at Marquette University’s Eckstein Hall, when Senator Feingold said he’s hearing the economy is going gangbusters after brazenly insinuating his opponent is the one who is out of touch with Main Street. Feingold has been trying for months to cover up the fact that Wisconsin has lost nearly 85,000 jobs since he cast the deciding vote for the stimulus bill.

“Instead of acknowledging we need to get serious about job creation for 15 million unemployed Americans, Senator Feingold is trying to cover up his failures by saying he’s hearing the economy is going gangbusters,” said Sara Sendek, spokeswoman for the Ron Johnson for Senate campaign. “For Senator Feingold to say the economy is going gangbusters after Wisconsin’s economy has shed nearly 85,000 jobs goes beyond out-of-touch. It is an insult to the out-of-work families and small businesses desperately seeking real recovery.”

Johnson Campaign Launches New TV Ad: Maverick

[Oshkosh, WI] Oshkosh manufacturer and U.S. Senate Candidate Ron Johnson’s campaign launched a new television ad today, titled “Maverick.”  The ad, which will appear statewide, debunks Senator Feingold’s claims of being the number one maverick and independent in the Senate.

“Senator Feingold claims to be a maverick, but the people of Wisconsin could have used a real maverick when he cast the deciding vote for the failed stimulus bill and the government takeover of health care,” Ron Johnson for Senate Spokeswoman Sara Sendek said.  “Wisconsinites deserve a leader who will stand with them, not the special interests and party bosses in Washington.”

ANNCR:           Not really.

He fell in line along with all the other mavericks voting for the failed stimulus.

And he was really “mavericky” when it came time to increase the debt limit…

ANNCR:           Let’s get serious. Russ Feingold a maverick? Not anymore.  He votes the party line.

“Made In America”

RON:   Not long ago manufacturing drove America, providing good jobs and a good living for Wisconsin families.

Now, our manufacturing communities struggle….because of misguided policies from Washington.

I believe America and Wisconsin can come back — better than ever.

But we have to stop Washington’s over-taxing and over-spending. Its killing our jobs.

Get government out of the way, and hardworking Americans can get it done.

I’m Ron Johnson, and I approved this message.
