FreedomWorks PAC Endorses “Champion of Freedom” Ron Johnson

Posted July 29, 2010

From FreedomWorks PAC:

“Today, fiscal conservative and “Champion of Freedom” Ron Johnson joins an impressive list of candidates endorsed by FreedomWorks PAC as part of the Take America Back in 2010 campaign. Johnson is a hard worker and a respected community leader running for Senate in Wisconsin. He earned the “Champion of Freedom” endorsement from FreedomWorks PAC for his leadership in the advancement of a common-sense, limited government agenda.

Johnson is both a Certified Public Accountant, and the creator of hundreds of manufacturing jobs. Given the current record-breaking levels of both the unemployment rate and the federal deficit, these are two skill sets desperately needed in the Senate.

An advocate of the free market, Johnson understands that the road to job creation and economic growth in Wisconsin will be paved with lower taxes and more individual freedom. For this reason, he promises to fight excessive taxes on the small businesses and homes of Wisconsin families.”

Endorsement by U.S. Senator Jim DeMint

Posted July 14, 2010

Please take a look at an article today published on Redstate.com, a nationally recognized conservative website.

A friend of mine pointed out the other day that while I endorsed Ron Johnson for the Senate in Wisconsin several weeks ago on Twitter, I never wrote about it here.

Let me remedy that today by pointing out Jim DeMint, the NRSC, and me are all on the same side on this one.

DeMint will be making his endorsement today. Later today and this week I hear other conservative organizations will also be coming out for Johnson.

Polls in Wisconsin show Ron Johnson giving Russ Feingold a serious run for his money in the polls. Some polls have Johnson ahead and some just behind.

Johnson is a solid conservative businessman. I hear he has already ruffled a few Republican feathers in Washington with some of his anti-spending, pro-growth ideas.

He’s the type of guy we need in Washington working with Jim DeMint

Wisconsin GOP Congressional Delegation Endorses Ron Johnson for U.S. Senate

Posted July 12, 2010

[Oshkosh, WI] Oshkosh manufacturer and US Senate candidate Ron Johnson announced today he has earned the endorsements of Congressmen Jim Sensenbrenner (WI-05), Tom Petri (WI-06) and Paul Ryan (WI-01).

The three members of Wisconsin’s GOP Congressional Delegation said they’re looking for an ally in the Senate to promote a fiscally conservative agenda for Wisconsin and they welcome Johnson’s experience creating jobs in the private sector as they address the number one issue facing Americans—getting the economy moving again.

Sensenbrenner said Wisconsin needs a real fiscal hawk in the Senate. “Ron Johnson will stand up to the big spenders, reject earmarks, and place his focus where it should be—getting government out of the way so that small businesses will start investing again,” Sensenbrenner said.

Petri, who represents Johnson’s hometown of Oshkosh, knows first-hand Johnson is a fiscally conservative community leader who will take Wisconsin values to Washington.  “Ron Johnson’s success as a small businessman and experience creating Wisconsin jobs will serve us well in the United States Senate,” Petri said.

Ryan said, “Ron Johnson is a hardworking businessman and a fiscal conservative who knows that in order to get our economy back on track, we’ll need to roll up our sleeves and tackle the pressing problems of unsustainable federal debt and spending.”

Johnson said he was both humbled and inspired to earn the endorsement of three of Wisconsin’s most prominent conservative voices. “I look forward to joining Congressmen Sensenbrenner, Petri and Ryan in Washington as we fight for freedom and fight for Wisconsin jobs,” Johnson said. “Together we’re standing with the taxpayers and standing up to the Democrats whose big spending policies are damaging our nation and our economy.”

Sensenbrenner represents Wisconsin’s 5th Congressional district which covers five counties in Southeastern Wisconsin including the cities of Waukesha, Wauwatosa, Brookfield, and West Bend. Petri represents Wisconsin’s 6th Congressional District, which covers all or part of twelve counties including the cities of Oshkosh, Beaver Dam, Fond du Lac, Manitowoc, Menasha, Neenah, Sheboygan and Watertown. Ryan represents Wisconsin’s 1st Congressional District which covers six counties in Southeastern Wisconsin including the cities of Janesville, Racine, and Kenosha.

Farrow Endorses Johnson

Posted July 6, 2010

Former Lt. Gov., Waukesha County State Senator Says Johnson is the “Real Deal”

[Madison, WI…]  Oshkosh manufacturer and US Senate candidate, Ron Johnson, today announced the endorsement of former Lt. Governor Margaret Farrow.

Johnson was joined by Lt. Governor Farrow in Madison at the last stop on his statewide tour to officially announce his candidacy to unseat 18-year incumbent Sen. Russ Feingold.  Farrow said Johnson’s entry into the race is shot in the arm for not only Republicans, but all voters who want to bring fiscal accountability and a respect for personal freedoms to Washington.

“Its clear conservatives have been looking for someone who can take the fight to Russ Feingold and win.  Ron Johnson is that candidate.  He’s the real deal,” said Farrow.  “Russ Feingold’s Washington crowd is making it impossible for people to have the opportunity to reap the promise of America like Ron did. After 18 years in Washington, Feingold is out of touch with what it means to work for a living in the private sector.  That’s why he constantly votes for policies that increase the size, scope and cost of government. Wisconsin deserves and can do better with Ron Johnson as our next US Senator.”

Johnson said he was honored to have Margaret Farrow’s endorsement, and he welcomed her leadership on his campaign to bring honesty and transparency to fix the mess in Washington.

“Because many of our politicians have been so grotesquely irresponsible, we have a huge financial mess ahead of us. We cannot afford to keep our heads in the sand any longer,” Johnson said.  “I am a business owner with a background in accounting. I have that perspective. I will be a citizen legislator.  We have enough professional politicians in Washington. It’s about time we send someone to Washington who can count.”

Johnson, 55, owns PACUR, Inc., an Oshkosh-based manufacturing facility that specializes in a variety of plastics manufacturing for medical, commercial and industrial purposes.
