Posted October 29, 2010

According to a Politico story out today, “Feingold has been one of the most aggressive supporters of the health care overhaul on the campaign trail…” (Politico, 2010 Races We’re Watching, 10/29/2010)

Has he forgotten the listening sessions like the one below where Wisconsinites told him to say “no” to the bill?

Feingold Breaks Garage Door Promise; 72% of Donors From Out-of-State

Posted October 28, 2010

Oshkosh, WI…In 1992, gasoline was $1.18 a gallon, Brett Favre started his career with the Packers, the national debt was $4 trillion, and Russ Feingold wrote on his garage door, “I will rely on Wisconsin citizens for most of my campaign contributions.”

Times have changed and so has Russ Feingold.

In his third quarter Federal Elections Commission report, over 72% of the donors who contributed to Russ Feingold lived outside Wisconsin.

Juston Johnson, campaign manager for Ron Johnson, issued the following statement:

“Career politicians’ promises don’t mean much. Russ Feingold promised to reduce the deficits, yet he’s voted to pass the largest deficits in history onto the backs of taxpayers. Russ Feingold promised to tackle the debt, but it has grown by a whopping $10 trillion since he entered office. Now, who can be surprised that he turned his back on one of the first promises he made to the voters of Wisconsin by taking the lion’s share of his campaign contributions from out-of-state. Russ Feingold isn’t a maverick, isn’t independent, he’s just another Washington politician.”

“Gangbusters”

Posted October 27, 2010

Oshkosh, WI…The Johnson campaign released a new web video today after Senator Feingold’s eyebrow-raising comments in last Friday’s debate have gotten Wisconsinites asking, “Does Senator Feingold really think the economy is going gangbusters?”

The web video, titled “Gangbusters,” features footage from Friday’s debate at Marquette University’s Eckstein Hall, when Senator Feingold said he’s hearing the economy is going gangbusters after brazenly insinuating his opponent is the one who is out of touch with Main Street. Feingold has been trying for months to cover up the fact that Wisconsin has lost nearly 85,000 jobs since he cast the deciding vote for the stimulus bill.

“Instead of acknowledging we need to get serious about job creation for 15 million unemployed Americans, Senator Feingold is trying to cover up his failures by saying he’s hearing the economy is going gangbusters,” said Sara Sendek, spokeswoman for the Ron Johnson for Senate campaign. “For Senator Feingold to say the economy is going gangbusters after Wisconsin’s economy has shed nearly 85,000 jobs goes beyond out-of-touch. It is an insult to the out-of-work families and small businesses desperately seeking real recovery.”

Johnson Campaign Launches New TV Ad: Maverick

[Oshkosh, WI] Oshkosh manufacturer and U.S. Senate Candidate Ron Johnson’s campaign launched a new television ad today, titled “Maverick.”  The ad, which will appear statewide, debunks Senator Feingold’s claims of being the number one maverick and independent in the Senate.

“Senator Feingold claims to be a maverick, but the people of Wisconsin could have used a real maverick when he cast the deciding vote for the failed stimulus bill and the government takeover of health care,” Ron Johnson for Senate Spokeswoman Sara Sendek said.  “Wisconsinites deserve a leader who will stand with them, not the special interests and party bosses in Washington.”

FEINGOLD:      “a guy named Russ Feingold was the number one maverick and independent….in the entire United States Senate”

ANNCR:           Not really.

Feingold went along with all the other mavericks for the government takeover of health care.

He fell in line along with all the other mavericks voting for the failed stimulus.

And he was really “mavericky” when it came time to increase the debt limit…

ANNCR:           Let’s get serious. Russ Feingold a maverick? Not anymore.  He votes the party line.

Feingold claims he is independent. “I have been instilled in the idea of Wisconsin independence, political independence in particular. And that’s had an impact on the way I’ve done this job. Some people say I’m the most independent member of the Senate.”(Russ Feingold, “University of Wisconsin-Marathon County Debate,” Wausau WI, 10/11/10)

ANNCR: Not really.

Feingold went along with all the other mavericks for the government takeover of health care.

Music Legend Pat Boone

Sings Praises of Ron Johnson

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact:  Matthew Kandrach

October 26, 2010                                                        703-807-2070 or mbkandrach@60plus.org

Alexandria, VA – Legendary entertainer Pat Boone, spokesman for a national non-partisan senior citizen group, announced today that Ron Johnson has won the 60 Plus Association’s Honorary Guardian of Seniors’ Rights award. Johnson is a Republican candidate for the U.S. Senate in Wisconsin.

Boone, still performing at concerts, was a recording, movie and TV star second to none in the 1950s, 60s and 70s, and had 38 top 10 hits during his career. Now a national spokesman for 60 Plus, Boone labeled Johnson a “fighter for the elderly.” Boone, 76, and his wife, Shirley, have been married for 55 years and reside in Beverly Hills, California.

The Association’s Guardian Award is presented to Democrats and Republicans in Congress based on their “senior friendly” voting records. The Honorary Award is given to those running for office and is based on their views on seniors’ issues.

“Ron Johnson can always be counted on to protect Social Security and Medicare,” Boone said. “Ron Johnson will be a tax cutter, protecting the pocket books of senior citizens. 60 Plus calls on nearly 5.5 million seniors nationally for support, so I believe I can speak on behalf of seniors when I say that they can count on Ron Johnson. Clearly, seniors will have no finer friend in the U.S. Senate than Ron Johnson.”

The 60 Plus Association is an 18-year-old nonpartisan organization working for death tax repeal, saving Social Security, affordable prescription drugs, lowering energy costs and other issues featuring a less government, less taxes approach as well as a strict adherence to the Constitution.  60 Plus calls on support from nearly 5.5 million citizen activists.  60 Plus publishes a newsletter, SENIOR VOICE, and a Scorecard, bestowing awards on lawmakers of both parties who vote “pro-senior.”   60 Plus has been called, “an increasingly influential senior citizen’s group.”
