New Report: Nearly 800,000 Jobs Will Be Lost Due to Feingold’s Health Care Bill
Oshkosh, WI…Senator Feingold’s flawed health care bill will kill at least 800,000 jobs according to a new report. The report is based on rules published by the Administration regarding the costly and complex health care bill Senator Russ Feingold provided the deciding vote for.
Senator Feingold’s continued overwhelming support for the health care bill shows a disturbing lack of concern for Wisconsin jobs.
“I want what I voted for, I want this bill. Because I think it’s the right solution.” – Senator Russ Feingold, University Of Wisconsin – Marathon County Debate, Wausau, WI, October 11, 2010.
According to the new report, the CBO estimates that the legislation will reduce the amount of labor used in the economy by more than 788,470 employees. (Senator John Barasso and Senator Tom Coburn, “Grim Diagnosis: A check-up on the federal health law,” p.4, October 2010)
“At a time when nearly 15 million Americas are unemployed, Senator Feingold’s health care bill could kill nearly a million more jobs,” said Sara Sendek, spokeswoman for Ron Johnson for Senate. “It’s time to elect a job creator like Ron Johnson who will work to address the real problems with our health care system with common-sense reforms while using his small business background to create real jobs.”
