ICYMI: Johnson Receives NRA Endorsement
Good afternoon,
In case you missed it: Today, Manufacturer and U.S. Senate Candidate Ron Johnson received the National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund endorsement. Upon receiving the endorsement, Johnson said “The National Rifle Association has a long and distinguished record of defending our Second Amendment rights, and I am proud to accept this endorsement for that reason. I will go to Washington to protect our constitutionally guaranteed rights and freedoms and will be a staunch defender of the Second Amendment.”
NRA-PVF Endorses Ron Johnson for U.S. Senate in Wisconsin
Fairfax, Va. – The National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF) is endorsing Ron Johnson for election to the U.S. Senate in Wisconsin this November.
“We can count on Ron Johnson to defend the Second Amendment freedoms of Wisconsin’s law-abiding gun owners, hunters and sportsmen,” said Chris W. Cox, chairman of NRA-PVF.
Ron Johnson’s commitment to preserving the Second Amendment has earned him an “AQ” rating and endorsement from the NRA-PVF.
Johnson supports national right-to-carry reciprocity and efforts to reform the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. He also opposes reenacting the Clinton gun and magazine ban and believes sportsmen should have access to federally owned or administered lands for hunting, fishing, trapping and recreational shooting. Johnson has also vowed to vote against anti-gun Supreme Court nominees.
“Ron Johnson will be a strong voice in fighting ongoing efforts by anti-gun politicians to dismantle the Second Amendment,” Cox concluded. “We ask all Wisconsin gun-owners and hunters to vote Ron Johnson for U.S. Senate on November 2nd.”
Chris W. Cox is NRA’s chief lobbyist. He also serves as chairman of NRA-PVF. The National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund is responsible for political candidate rankings. These are based on candidate voting records, public statements and responses to NRA-PVF questionnaires.

Established in 1871, the National Rifle Association is America’s oldest civil rights and sportsmen’s group. Four million members strong, NRA continues to uphold the Second Amendment and advocates enforcement of existing laws against violent offenders to reduce crime. The Association remains the nation’s leader in firearm education and training for law-abiding gun owners, law enforcement and the armed services.

To The U.S. Congress, There is a Beatles Song that starts out. “Can you imagine” I would like to begin my comments by saying. Can you imagine what would happen if the Federal Government would reduce its self to managing only 2 things? 1. The interstate highways. 2. The military. Leave all the rest to our state governments. I have nightmares picturing a map of the United States and sitting on top of the United states is a large octopus with its head the shape of the US capitol and all its arms attached to the states . . .just sucking the blood out of them. Its time for this monster to go away. Leave us alone. You don’t produce a product you don’t do anything but ride on the backs of working people. Please show us you care. Vern Eliason
I wish that in one of your political ads you would “fire a shot back” to Mr. Feingold that in 1987 there were almost 11,000 jobs here in Wisconsin at Briggs and Stratton and its sister company Strattec Security Corporation. For the past eighteen years and more we have seen companies like Ladisch, John Deer, Tecumseh, Harnishphager, Evinrude, Allis Chalmers, Caterpillar, Tower Automotive, Harley Davidson, and so many more close their doors and move out of state because of the tax laws here in Wisconsin. His latest ad points to one tiny Evenflo company that moved because of NAFTA? NAFTA and the other free-trade agreements were only one of the reasons they moved. Briggs could have had every one of its employees work for free and not have been able to make a profit on their products because of the tax rate on the property they owned on 124th and Burleigh. Look up the figures-this is great stuff for yur campaign-and who was in office then…Feingold.
My husband and I both worked for Briggs and Stratton. I haven’t had a job since 2001 when they moved their jobs to Juarez, Mexico. I spent $85,000 in student loans to get an Associate of Arts and Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of wisconsin-Washington County and University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. I graduated this year at 53. After searching for jobs for the past 10 years I was finally offered a job that paid $8.05 an hour at Shopko for 16 hours a week. Who is Obama trying to fool with a ridiculous job offer out there like that? How do I pay off a student debt of nearly $600 a month with a paycheck of $261.00 a month? At Briggs I made $14.00 an hour with a high school diploma-now I can’t find work. If I accepted the job at $8.05 I would be paying Shopko $1.12 an hour to work for them. You need to tell this elitist Obama that people out here are suffering. While I understand that we owe a great deal to China, the trade deficit needs to be addressed-that free trade agreement wasn’t exactly “free” for workers like myself. I can’t compete with a worker that will work all week for $5.00. Those 11,000 unemployed workers from Briggs and Stratton are still out there and you can bet they are voting.
