Johnson collects GOP endorsements
OSHKOSH (AP) – U.S. Senate hopeful Ron Johnson says he has been endorsed by all three of Wisconsin’s Republican congressmen.
Johnson’s campaign said Monday the Oshkosh manufacturer has the endorsements of Jim Sensenbrenner, Tom Petri and Paul Ryan.
Johnson is hoping to unseat Sen. Russ Feingold, the Democratic incumbent seeking his fourth term this fall. Before Johnson can face Feingold he has to beat Watertown businessman Dave Westlake in the Republican primary Sept. 14.
Johnson’s campaign released a statement quoting each of the three congressmen.
It quotes Sensenbrenner as saying Johnson will help get government out of the way of small businesses.
Petri and Ryan say Johnson has experience creating jobs and will help tackle irresponsible spending.
