Johnson Campaign: Does Feingold Believe Obama Acted Swiftly on BP?
[Oshkosh, WI] Following a Wisconsin Democrats conference call regarding Ron Johnson holding stock in BP, Juston Johnson, Campaign Manager for Ron Johnson for Senate, issued the following statement:
“When was the last time Russ Feingold demanded that the Wisconsin Retirement Fund that he belongs to and will benefit from financially disinvest itself of BP and other oil company stocks?
As of June 30, 2009, the State of Wisconsin Retirement Fund which Feingold is a part of held of 8,522,683 shares of BP stock worth $406,361,525.44.
For Feingold and the Democrats to criticize Ron when Feingold personally benefits from the same investments is typical Washington political hypocrisy.
Ron has clearly stated that BP is responsible for the mishap, should be held liable, and they will be held liable. Ron also believes that the Obama Administration has been slow to organize and affect the cleanup.
Does Sen. Feingold believe President Obama, who has taken in more campaign cash from BP than any politician in the last twenty years, has done all he can on the clean-up and does he believe the Administration acted swiftly in their response?”
